HannikNav been providing professional outdoor education services for over fourteen years to a variety of organizations. During this time we have specialized in the area of land navigation and taught hundreds of people to be both confident and skilled.

Courses are designed to ensure participants learn the science and art of navigation through lecture, hands-on activities, classroom exercises, critical thinking scenarios, independent reading and practical field experiences.

Professional Instruction on navigation skills for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals. Classroom and field tested for over 14 years. We have taught this course in a variety of locations from the dense woods of the east to the mountains and desserts of the west.

Hands-on Experiences are the core of all our courses. We incorporate multi-media presentations, skill based activities, critical thinking problems and field practice into every course.

  • Web Directory of courses and organizations that provide training related to safety and skill development in the outdoors.

    • Searchable database of courses, worldwide (www.WildEssentials.org)

  • Conduct research related to preventing outdoor incidents

  • Collect and analyze national incident data that pertains to outdoor recreation

  • Distribute pertinent findings from research and incident data

  • Create and distribute media to promote responsible outdoor recreation to the public and to lessen perceived dangers
